Thank you so much for your interest. You must be interested in supporting fun local community events for everyone, and we can’t wait to learn more about how our efforts can align. This page will help answer common questions we receive and walk you through how to become a sponsor.
A bit about our vision for Keweenaw Pridefest 2026
Keweenaw Pridefest will be on June 6, 2026, from 1-5pm at the Calumet Colosseum.
With your help, we can make Keweenaw Pridefest even more expansive. We want to provide a shuttle service for the event, with stops in Houghton, Hancock, and Calumet. Like previous years, there will be live music, a photobooth, non-commercial community organization tables, lawn games, and free refreshments.
This year, Keweenaw Pridefest’s theme is Rainbow Connections. This encompasses the connections we make as community members, and connections to queer history. Together, we can create lasting connections across the Copper Country.
Our final budget is $9,000, which covers A/V music coordination, compensation for 4 bands, transportation, a photographer, refreshments, first aid supplies, event insurance, advertising, and other equipment. Any additional funds raised will go toward future community events.
Impacts of Keweenaw Pridefest

In 2025, an estimated 500 people from across Michigan and Northern Wisconsin attended Keweenaw Pridefest, patronizing local businesses. - Fosters an inclusive environment
This event showcases the vibrancy of the LGBTQIA+ community, which is under-represented locally. It creates a space where everyone in the Keweenaw is safe to be themselves. - Creates community connection
This event is a space where people can connect and build relationships that extend beyond Pridefest. - Ensures more local queer events
Members of the community have told us that Pridefest is “desperately needed.” With the success of Keweenaw Pridefest, more local events can be planned.
Sponsorship Levels
There are two sponsorship levels for businesses and organizations:
Tier 1 Sponsor ($200)
You will receive a window cling that can be placed in your business to let the community know you supported Keweenaw Pridefest 2026. At the event, we will feature a 2 x 8 foot sponsorship banner. Your logo will be featured on this banner, and Tier 1 sponsorship will give you up to a 5 x 5 inch logo placement. Finally, leading up to Keweenaw Pridefest 2026, we will do a group shout-out on our social media accounts thanking our Tier 1 sponsors. These will be posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Tier 2 Sponsor ($500)
You will receive a window cling that can be placed in your business to let the community know you supported Keweenaw Pridefest 2026. Your logo will be featured on our 2 x 8 foot sponsorship banner, with up to a 10 x 10 inch placement; twice as large as Tier 1. Leading up to Keweenaw Pridefest, we will individually thank and tag your business in its own dedicated post. Finally, as a Tier 2 sponsor, you have the opportunity to table at Keweenaw Pridefest. You can advertise your business, hand out swag, and other non-commercial activities.

Sponsorship FAQ
- When is the deadline for sponsorship?
- May 10, 2026
- What if my business/organization wants to donate a smaller amount or I want to donate as an individual?
- Smaller donations are absolutely accepted! Please contact us at keweenawqueers@gmail.com for more information.
- Can my business/organization have a table at Keweenaw Pridefest without sponsoring?
- For-profit businesses and organizations can only have a table at Keweenaw Pridefest if they are a Tier 2 sponsor. Nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to table for no cost.
- Can you endorse my political candidate or party?
- As a 501(c)(3), Keweenaw Queers does not participate in political endorsements.
- My business/organization is not able to donate money. Is there anything else we can do to support this event/group?
- Are you Keweenaw Pride?
- The Keweenaw Queers are not officially associated with Michigan Tech’s “Keweenaw Pride,” which is Tech’s LGBTQIA+ and ally organization. We are not officially associated with Michigan Technological University or any other local entities. While we stand in solidarity with Keweenaw Pride, Keweenaw Queers is an independent nonprofit.
- Is my donation tax-deductible?
- Yes! Keweenaw Queers is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit, so donations to our organization are tax-deductible.
